The Swedish Association of Air Handling Industries

Svensk Ventilation (also called SwedVent) has about 100 qualified member companies, representing manufacturers of ventilation products, installers and service companies. The total annual turnover is about 10 000 MSEK and the number of employees is slightly more than 8 000 people. We have also established a number of local branches in different parts of Sweden; their task is to prosecute activities in the local area.

The main task for Svensk Ventilation is to promote the need for good ventilation in our dwellings and premises. Svensk Ventilation shall also assist the ventilation industry to keep a high quality performance. Another important task is to work for good technical education on different levels of the air handling technique in close co-operation with authorities and universities.

From now on, all delivered building products, including ventilation equipment, shall be accompanied by a declaration, describing the environmental effects of the product. A current task for Svensk Ventilation is to produce a common pattern for these declarations concerning ventilation products.

The international and European work in the standardisation field is carried out in close co-operation between the Swedish standardisation bodies and Svensk Ventilation. Through representatives from our member companies in CEN- and ISO-committees, we have a considerable impact on this work.
